THE PROBLEMHunger doesn’t end as students move to a higher grade level, and it doesn’t disappear when students move from Elementary to Middle School. When kids are in school during the day, they are able to receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch, but when school is not in session, food-insecure children do not have access to consistent, nutritious meals. As students learn and grow in Middle School, they have unique dietary needs to fuel their growth spurts and feed their minds.

"I have personally witnessed the joy and smiles the children have when they opened up their backpacks to check if their food pack was delivered at the end of the day on Friday. Thank you to all the people involved in this great program!"

THE SOLUTIONThe Power Pack Program addresses the unique needs of middle school students who now have an additional boost of nutrients and energy. To give them this fuel, FOCP provides enrolled youth weekend food packs and nutritious snacks throughout the day.
Not only does this provide middle school students with necessary fuel, it also gives them nutritious and well-balanced meals that they can take home for weekends and extended school breaks. Teachers from our local schools reported an increase in energy levels, concentration levels, emotional health and school attendance in students who received these food packs. These free food packs are discreetly delivered to the student at the end of each week and are designed to provide our youth with the nutrients and fuel they need to keep them successful in school, activities and life. Student enrollment is open year-round. Students in grades 6-8 are eligible for free meals from the Power Pack food program. FOCP honors most allergies, dietary restrictions and culturally specific diets within our food packs. |
