BackPack Food Program for Elementary Students
When school is in session, children can receive breakfast and lunch at school. But when school dismisses for weekends or extend school breaks, adequate access to regular and well-balanced meals is not always readily available.
That's where the BackPack Food Program steps in...
Privately funded by grants and community donations, the BackPack Food Program provides healthy, well-balanced meals in small bags. The bags are given to the student's teachers to be discreetly placed into the child's backpack when they are at recess or away from their lockers.
Student enrollment is very simple and open year-round.
You can enroll your student anytime throughout the school year.
Power Packs for Middle School Students
Our latest program, the Power Pack program addresses the complex needs of middle school students who may require an additional boost of nutrition and energy to sustain them after school and between extra-curricular activities. Power Packs may also be used to help alleviate hunger on weekends. Currently, the program is slated to serve approx. 200 students at two local Middle Schools. FOCP's goal is to provide these youth with the basic fuel they need to be successful in school, activities and life.
Power Packs are currently available for students at Dakota Meadows Middle School and Prairie Winds Middle School.
